Postponed – Thomas Stocker: Climate crisis – an existential threat?

Planet Hope
Series of events in the “Rendez-vous Bundesplatz” in Polit Forum Bern in the Käfigturm

In addition to the light show on Parliament Square on the topic of sustainability, the Polit Forum Bern (Link zu unserer Website einfügen: www.polit-forum-bern.ch) is organising a series of talks with leading sustainability research experts, and invites the audience to learn more about three individual topics: Climate change, agriculture and food security, and the loss of species.

Thomas Stocker: Climate crisis – an existential threat?
The concentration of the greenhouse gas CO2 in the atmosphere is around 35% greater than it has ever been in the last 800 000 years. This is caused by the burning of fossil fuels, the clearing of the tropical rainforests, and the destruction of ecosystems. If left unchecked, climate warming and environmental problems can lead to a global resources crisis.

With: Prof. Thomas Stocker, Professor at the Physics Institute and at the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Bern.
